Senior (2015-16)
Rachel Theriot (pronounced RAY-chel, TERRY-oh) had her second straight season end early with an ankle injury that required surgery on Feb. 29. She started 23 of 29 games as a senior, finishing her career No. 3 at Nebraska and No. 10 in Big Ten history with 626 assists. She also ranked 16th in Husker history with 1,288 career points.

Theriot earned honorable-mention All-Big Ten accolades from the media as a senior after averaging 10.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and a Big Ten-best 7.3 assists per game.

A Wade, Wooden and Naismith National Player-of-the-Year candidate as a junior, Theriot led the Huskers with 16.5 points and 5.2 assists per game through 21 games in 2014-15. She suffered an ankle injury in practice on Feb. 3 and missed NU’s final 11 games. Theriot underwent ankle surgery on Feb. 19, 2015.

An honorable-mention All-American as a sophomore, Theriot is one of the nation’s best point guards and was a Lieberman Award candidate in 2014-15. She is expected to contend for All-America honors on and off the court, as a candidate for CoSIDA Academic All-America and Senior CLASS Award recognition in 2015-16.

Theriot set a Nebraska single-season record with 234 assists as a sophomore in 2013-14. She owns 67 double-figure scoring efforts, including 13 20-point games.

Junior (2014-15)
Despite missing nearly half of the Big Ten season, Theriot earned second-team All-Big Ten honors from the conference coaches. She led the Huskers with 16.5 points and 5.2 assists per game, while adding 4.2 rebounds.

One of the Big Ten's top shooters, Theriot hit 40.8 percent (20-49) of her three-point attempts while connecting on 92.6 percent (63-68) of her free throws. Her free throw percentage would have easily led the conference, but she did not meet the minimum games requirement.

A candidate for the Wade, Naismith, Wooden and Lieberman awards as a junior, Theriot was a preseason first-team All-Big Ten selection.

Theriot scored in double figures in 19 of 21 games on the season to push her career total to 51 double-digit efforts. That performance followed an 18-point, eight-assist effort in an 86-58 semifinal win over the No. 19 Spartans.
