Rachel Theriot hopes to rebound from a season-ending ankle injury she suffered in February of 2015 to produce the best season of her outstanding career in 2015-16. The 6-0 senior point guard from Middleburg Heights, Ohio, has guided Nebraska to three consecutive NCAA Tournament bids as a starter, while capturing honorable-mention All-America honors with a record-setting sophomore season in 2013-14.
Theriot earned first-team All-Big Ten honors and was named the Big Ten Tournament MVP after powering the Big Red to the first conference tournament title in school history in 2014. She dished out a record 10.0 assists per game in three Big Ten Tournament wins on her way to a school single-season record 234 assists as a sophomore.
A candidate for the Wade, Naismith and Wooden National Player-of-the-Year awards, Theriot will also be a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award in 2015-16.
Rachel took a few minutes out of her schedule to answer some questions to provide a little bit more insight about her life off the court.
