Pascale’s Career Capsule
Brittany Pascale (pronounced PASS-kull) was hampered by injuries in her Husker career, but she provided leadership befitting of a two-year captain. Pascale appeared in 160 games in her career, starting 126. She posted a .223 career average, finishing with 78 hits, seven doubles, six home runs and 38 RBIs. Pascale also drew 58 walks, helping her post a .342 career on-base percentage. Defenisvely, Pascale was unable to catch for nearly all of her alst two seasons, but she finished with a .922 fielding percentage, committing only three errors in 353 career chances.

Senior Season [2009]
Pascale appeared in 43 gaems and earned 34 starts as the designated player in 2009, as a chronic shoulder injury limited her to hitting-only duties. She batted a career-high .258 on the season, while finishing with a career-best four home runs and 17 RBIs. Entering the season, Pascale had only homered twice and produced only 21 RBIs in her first three seasons combined. Her .402 slugging percentage as a senior was .105 points higher than she posted any other season. Pascale also scored seven runs while doubling twice.

Junior Season [2008]
Pascale was slowed by continued rehabilitation following offseason shoulder surgery ... was not cleared to catch until late April ... started 11 games, including five at catcher and six as the designated player ... also made 13 pinch-hitting appearances ... coaxed eight walks in only 49 plate appearances to post a .277 on-base percentage ... went 0-for-0 with two walks against California, marking the fourth time in her career she reached base in every plate appearance without recording a hit ... recorded the game-winning, pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning of the Huskers’ 5-4 win over Kansas on the final day of April to kickstart a strong finish to the year ... added a 2-for-3 performance against Missouri on the final weekend of the regular season to mark her first multi-hit game of the year ... reached base safely in her final five games, recording three hits, two walks and one hit batter.

Sophomore Season [2007]
Pascale started 54 games, including 25 at catcher ... started 21 straight games at catcher for injured starter Jamie Waldecker ... drew a team-high 29 walks ... became first Husker to post 20 or more walks in a season since two-time Canadian Olympian Sheena Lawrick had 33 in 2005 .... added six multi-hit efforts ... tied a career high by going 3-for-3 against North Dakota State while adding a run ... drew a career-high three walks in game two of a doubleheader against Colorado State, one shy of Lawrick’s school record ... hit her only home run in game one against the Rams, a game-winner that marked NU’s only baserunner in a 1-0 win ... went 6-for-14 in a six-game stretch April 14-19 and recorded back-to-back multi-hit games ... went 0-for-0 but reached base safely in every plate appearance in three games ... was hit by two pitches and walked once against Tennessee Tech, was 0-for-0 with three walks against Colorado State and was 0-for-0 with three walks and one hit-by-pitch at No. 4 Oklahoma.

Freshman Season [2006]
Pascale appeared in 37 games, including 27 starts ... proved to be a clutch bat, especially in pinch-hitting situations ... hit .230 with a pair of doubles, a home run and eight RBIs ... saw most of her action at designated player, but also saw time at catcher ... was responsible for sending Nebraska to extra innings in three of the Huskers’ five extra-inning games on the season by tying the game in the seventh inning ... recorded a pinch-hit sacrifice fly to force extra innings against Notre Dame, was hit by a bases-loaded pitch in the seventh inning of a game at Texas Tech and belted a game-tying pinch-hit homer - the first of her career - to lead off the seventh inning against Creighton ... recorded her first hit against Florida Atlantic ... burst onto the scene at the Best Western Airport Festival in Tulsa, Okla. ... earned two starts behind the plate, one at designated player and appeared in all five games at the tournament ... finished the weekend 7-for-10 (.700) with her first career double and first career RBI ... went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in a pair of starts against South Dakota State, including a career-high two RBIs in game one ... was perfect in 77 chances in the field.

Before Nebraska
Pascale was a first-team all-state selection as a junior and a second-team all-state pick as a sophomore and senior for Lincoln Way East ... earned third-team all-area honors as a freshman and was a first-team all-area and all-conference selection as a sophomore and junior ... was also a Chicago Tribune special mention all-state selection as a sophomore ... as a freshman, Pascale led Lincoln Way East to the Illinois Class 2A state title, batting .280 with 12 RBIs, six doubles and three triples ... off the field, Pascale served as the class president her sophomore, junior and senior years and was named to the honor roll all four years of high school.

Personal
Brittany Elizabeth Pascale is the daughter of Joe and Diane Pascale and was born on Sept. 14, 1986, in Blue Island, Ill. Brittany has two sisters, Danielle (24) and Samantha (17) and her family owns Aurelio’s Family Pizzeria franchise. Nebraska’s second letterwinner from the state of Illinois and the first since 1996, Brittany is a communication studies major.
