2004: Season Outlook
Liz Lawhorn has earned a spot in the starting lineup for the 2004 season after providing depth in the outfielder during her first two years as a Husker. Lawhorn, who transferred to NU after attending Nebraska-Kearney as a freshman in 2001, is the Huskers' projected starter in right field.

Lawhorn played in 24 games in 2003, finishing with a .343 on-base percentage. Hard work in the offseason should pay dividends in Lawhorn's final season, NU Coach Rhonda Revelle said.

Lawhorn will also play a pivotal leadership role, as she has been selected a co-captain for 2004.

An outstanding student, Lawhorn is attending Nebraska on a Regents' Scholarship.

2003: Junior Season
Lawhorn provided depth in the outfield for Nebraska, starting eight games in right field and three as the designated player ... Lawhorn batted .207 (6-for-29) with three runs scored ... was one of five Huskers to hit a triple during the 2003 season, with one against UMKC March 18 ... also had two RBIs against the Kangaroos ... was perfect in the outfield in 12 chances.

2002: Sophomore Season
Lawhorn contributed in several areas in 2002, starting 11 games in right field, five in left field and eight as the designated player ... started quickly, hitting .364 (4-for-11) in her first four games of the season ... had a three-game hitting streak from Feb. 9-Feb. 15, going 4-for-9 against Wisconsin, New Mexico State and Louisiana State ... went 2-for-4 with an RBI against Texas A&M Feb. 24 ... drove in the winning run against Southern Illinois on March 9 with an RBI single in the bottom of the second ... finished the season with a .194 average and two doubles ... defensively, was perfect in 12 chances in the outfield.

2001: Freshman Season at Nebraska-Kearney
Lawhorn started 30 games as an infielder and led the Lopers in home runs (five) and total bases (54) as a freshman ... tied for the team lead with seven doubles and a .557 slugging percentage ... posted a .309 (30-for-97) batting average, which ranked third on the team ... also ranked third on the team with 15 RBIs ... went 4-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and a triple March 10 against Adams State ... was 2-for-4 (.500) with two runs scored, a double and a home run April 8 at Mesa State ... earned first-team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors.
