1994: Senior Season
Denise McMillan closed a stellar career as a Nebraska student-athlete by claiming CoSIDA Academic All-America honors for the third consecutive season...named second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American for third straight year...continued to show improvement by setting personal-bests with a .260 batting average, 38 hits, 16 RBIs and four triples...led the Huskers with four triples on the year...hit .152 with one triple in Big Eight play... produced a .909 fielding percentage as an outfielder, committing six errors on the season...earned honorable-mention All-Big Eight honors for the second straight season...earned academic All-Big Eight honors.
1993: Junior Season
An honorable-mention All-Big Eight pick, McMillan enjoyed a productive season with a .238 batting average, 29 hits, 16 RBIs and four triples. Her triple total tied for 10th on NU's single-season chart and ranked second among Big Eight players...batted .174 in conference action with eight hits...earned second-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors for the second straight season, while adding first-team academic All-Big Eight recognition...added first-team National Softball Coaches Association Scholastic All-America honors, while being named the only Husker female athlete on the National Strength Coaches All-America team.
1992: Sophomore Season
A star in the classroom, McMillan captured second-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors as a sophomore by carrying a 3.97 GPA...started 47 games and had a .197 batting average as the Huskers' starting left fielder...had two three-hit performances (Illinois State, Northern Iowa)...finished with a .958 fielding percentage with just four errors in 95 chances...stole 4-of-6 bases and scored 12 runs on the year...earned a spot on the academic All-Big Eight Honor Roll, with a 3.97 GPA through three semesters.
1991: Freshman Season
McMillan made the move from left to center field with ease after Kristin Davidson suffered a mid-season injury...started 39 of the team's 40 games in 1991 and finished her freshman season with a .176 batting average, with 19 hits, including four doubles...scored seven times and was 6-of-7 in stolen bases...had her best game of the season against Santa Clara, when she had two hits, scored twice and stole two bases...registered a pair of hits against intra-state rival Creighton.
High School
Before coming to Nebraska, McMillan earned 10 varsity letters in softball, volleyball and basketball at Westerville North, and earned all-district honors in all three sports...earned all-state softball honors twice, both as an infielder and outfielder...was the valedictorian of her class, a National Merit Scholarship winner and a UNL David Scholarship recipient.

She is the daughter of Henry and Pat McMillan, majored in pre-medicine, and was born Feb. 8, 1972.
