The Nebraska soccer team will welcome the South Dakota Coyotes to Barbara Hibner Stadium to open a four-game homestand on Sunday, Aug. 16. The match is set to start at 1:05 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on B1G+.
After the contest against USD, the Huskers will take on the No. 2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7:05 p.m. (CT). That game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Last Time Out
NU downed the Louisville Cardinals, 3-1, on the road on Wednesday, Aug. 12. Nathalie Lewis, Ella Rudney and Ava Makovicka logged goals for the Big Red, while Sadie Sant and Jo Sees added assists. Avery Gillahan played all 90 minutes in the net and recorded six saves.

- The Huskers’ win over Louisville to open the season was the first season-opening win over a Power 5 team since 2018.

Scouting the South Dakota Coyotes (1-0-0)
- USD opened the season with a 4-0 win over Northern Iowa.
- South Dakota went 7-6-6 last season with a 3-3-2 mark in conference competition. The Coyotes’ season ended with a loss to Kansas City in the Summit League Tournament.
- USD returns redshirt sophomore Klarissa Vega, who accounted for 19 points and eight goals for the ‘Yotes last season.
- Head Coach Michael Thomas is entering his ninth season with South Dakota and is 58-58-30 with the Coyotes. He is 89-125-46 in his 14-year career.
