The Nebraska soccer team will open the regular season against the Louisville Cardinals in Louisville, Ky., on Wednesday, Aug. 12. The game is set to start at 6:30 p.m. (CT) and can be streamed on ACC Network Extra, which is accessible through ESPN+.
After the matchup with Louisville, the Huskers will host the South Dakota Coyotes for the first match at Barbara Hibner Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 16. That contest will start at 1:05 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on B1G+.
Last Time Out
The Huskers fell, 3-1, in an exhibition match against Colorado State. Reese Borer scored the goal for the Big Red in the 13th minute.
Quick Notes
- Nebraska will host 10 regular-season home matches this year, including six home Big Ten contests.
- NU grabbed wins over South Dakota State, Creighton, Iowa State and Colorado during the spring. The Big Red also tied with Kansas.

- Head Coach John Walker enters his 33rd season, alongside assistant coaches Savanah Anderson-Baer (fourth season), Ian Bridge (11th season) and Austen Parker (first season). Walker has a 379-208-67 record in his career and has coached all 32 seasons in Nebraska soccer history.
Scouting the Louisville Cardinals
- Louisville received six votes in the preseason United Soccer Coaches Association poll. UofL downed Indiana, 4-2, and tied Ohio State, 2-2, in a pair of exhibition matches.
- The Cardinals went 13-5-3 last season with a 6-2-2 mark in ACC competition. Their season ended with a loss to Kansas in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
- Midfielder Amelia Swinarski was named to the Hermann Trophy Midfielders Watch List and the preseason All-ACC team.
- Head Coach Hunter Norton is in his first year at the helm of Louisville soccer. He served as associate head coach for five years and has been on the Cardinals’ staff for 13 total seasons.
