Huskers Add 12 Talented Gymnasts for 2027

Nebraska will add 12 talent new Huskers to its women’s gymnastics program for the 2026-27 season, Head Coach Nicole Jones announced officially on Friday, July 31.

Seven NCAA Division I transfers, including Isabel Biro, Adriana Consoli, Lilia Cosman, Amy Doyle, Grace Drexler, Aubree Guinee and Isabella Kowan, will join a five-member freshman class that features Natalie Burns, Christiane Popovich, Aaliyah De Sousa, Brooke Striga and Kambry Tucker on the Big Red roster for 2026-27.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the belief these 12 women have shown in our vision and the future of Nebraska Gymnastics. Choosing to be part of a new era takes courage, and they have embraced that opportunity with excitement, confidence and a commitment to building something special,” Jones said. “While their talent and unique skill sets will help us compete at a high level, what excites me most is who they are as people—their character, work ethic, love for this sport, and pride in representing Nebraska. Along with our returners, this group is hungry, selfless and united by a shared belief in what this program can become. We’re excited to begin this journey together with Husker Nation. We’re just getting started, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.”

Isabel Biro, Cincinnati, Ohio
Isabel Biro comes to Nebraska from Michigan State, where she was a late-season contributor to the Spartan beam lineup. Biro posted a career-high 9.775 on beam in the NCAA Tempe Regional Second Round to help MSU advance to the Regional Final. In her first appearance on beam, she notched a 9.725 against Maryland and Western Michigan (Feb. 15), before putting up a 9.700 against Auburn, before adding a spot in the lineup at the Regional Final. She also exhibitioned once on bars, twice on floor and three more times on beam during the season.

Biro trained at Queen City Gymnastics under coaches Stacy Moore and Zach Busam. A four-year Level 10 gymnast, Biro was the 2023 Ohio all-around and floor state champion and a four-time USA Gymnastics Women's DP National Championships qualifier from 2022 to 2025.

Biro plans to major in pre-health at Nebraska.

Natalie Burns, Louisville, Colorado
Natalie Burns has trained at Colorado Gymnastics Institute under head coach Vinecio Leira. She is a two-time Level 10 Nationals qualifier (2024, 2025) recognized for her consistency and artistry on beam. She was the 2024 Colorado state champion on beam and earned a top-10 beam finish at nationals in 2025.

Burns plans to major in pre-PA at Nebraska.

Adriana Consoli, Sugar Land, Texas
Adriana Consoli joins the Huskers after spending her first collegiate season at Auburn under former head coach Jeff Graba.  Consoli trained at Pearland Elite under Nick Cedillo and Tasha Beale. She is a two-time USA Gymnastics Women's DP National Championship qualifier. At the 2024 Texas State meet, Consoli finished in the top five in all categories, including fourth in all-around and bars.

Consoli will major in communication studies at Nebraska.

Lilia Cosman, Holt, Michigan
A 2024 Olympian for Romania, Lilia Cosman was a regular in Michigan State lineups on bars, beam and floor exercise as a freshman in 2026. She earned a bronze medal on beam at the Big Ten Championships by tying her collegiate career-high 9.900 three times on beam during the season, with the last one coming in a bronze medal performance at the Big Ten Championships. She posted a pair 9.850 scores on bars during the season. She added a career-high 9.850 on floor against UCLA. Cosman, who competed in the all-around in Paris and helped Romania earn a seventh-place team finish, also took fourth on beam and eighth in the all-around at the 2024 European Championships. Cosman trained at Capital City Flips in Lansing, Michigan, under Kristin Buese.

Cosman will study business law at Nebraska.

Cosman on Nebraska: "The coaches played a big role. They are amazing people inside and out of the gym, and I saw better growing opportunities as a person and gymnast. The school was beautiful, and you can tell they care about their athletes as people, not only as performers."

Aaliyah De Sousa, Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada
Aaliyah De Sousa trained at Flip City Gymnastics Club under head coach Alana Jensen. De Sousa has represented Canada both as a Junior and Senior National Team Member. She was the Junior All-Around Gold Medalist at the 2023 Gymnova Cup. She went on to claim beam and floor gold medals in event finals while helping Team Canada take gold at the 2024 Luxembourg Open.

De Sousa plans to major in psychology at Nebraska.

Amy Doyle, Johnson, Arkansas
A first-team All-American on vault as a freshman at Michigan State in 2025, Amy Doyle joins the Huskers after sitting out the 2026 season because of injury. Doyle, who was just the second freshman in Spartan history to earn All-America honors, unleashed a career-best 9.9125 in the semifinals of the 2025 NCAA Championships (April 17) to take fourth overall at nationals. She also competed on bars at the NCAA Semifinals, posting a 9.8625. She notched a career-best bars score of 9.875 three times, with the last one coming at the 2025 Big Ten Championships. She owns a career-best beam score of 9.775. Doyle trained at Aspire Gymnastics Academy in Bentonville, Arkansas, under coaches Zsolt (Kenobi) Bense and Jordan Ellstrand. Doyle was a five-star recruit by College Gym News and was a three-time USA Gymnastics Women's DP National Championships Qualifier from 2021 to 2023. Doyle swept the event and all-around titles in both the 2022 and 2023 Arkansas Level 10 State Championships.

Doyle plans to major in economics at Nebraska.

Grace Drexler, Stratford, Wisconsin
Grace Drexler spent two seasons at Arkansas under former head coach Jordan Wieber before coming to Nebraska. Drexler did not compete for the Razorbacks in 2026, after competing four times on vault during her freshman season in 2025. She produced a season-high 9.875 in her collegiate debut against Florida (Feb. 7, 2025). Drexler trained at Twin City Twisters. She was the 2022 Minnesota state vault champion, a bronze medalist on bars, and had top-10 finishes in all events and the all-around. She was a senior national qualifier in back-to-back years, claiming the national all-around and floor titles in 2022.

Drexler plans to major in nutrition and health science at Nebraska.

I felt the support and guidance necessary from everyone here that would help me be successful, and help me reach my full potential, not just in athletics but in academics as well. Most importantly, it felt like home the second I visited!"

Aubree Guinee, Plainfield, Illinois
Aubree Guinee joins the Huskers after spending her first two collegiate seasons at Iowa State. Guinee scored a career-high 9.850 on floor (Jan. 18, Feb. 1), while adding a career-best 9.825 on vault (Feb. 1). She also posted a career-best 9.625 on beam twice during the season. As a freshman, Guinee only competed on floor with a pair of season-high 9.800 scores. Guinee was an Academic All-Big 12 selection in 2026.

Guinee plans to study finance at Nebraska.

Isabella Kowan, Pickering, Ontario, Canada
One of two Canadian newcomers in the Husker class, Isabella Kowan comes to Nebraska after spending four seasons at Arizona State. Kowan posted a career-high beam score of 9.875 against Utah as a junior in 2025 to claim an event title against the Utes. She posted a pair of 9.850 scores on beam as a senior, while matching a career best with a 9.775 on bars at the NCAA Tempe Regional Second Round in 2026. Kowan is a four-time WCGA Scholastic All-American and a two-time Academic All-Big 12 choice. Before college, Kowan was an Eastern Canadian All-Around Champion and a two-time Ontario All-Around Champion.

Kowan plans to major in psychology (neuroscience) at Nebraska.

Christiane Popovich, West Des Moines, Iowa
Christiane Popovich trained at Emerge Gymnastics under coaches Hisham Ismail, Emma Brown and Spencer Johnson. She was the 2024 national runner-up on bars, and she finished third on vault in 2022 at the U.S. Championships. Popovich was selected for the 2022 Nationals Team Camp and Pan American Games Select Camp. Popovich originally signed with Minnesota in the fall of 2025, but chose not to join the Gophers and competed with Triumph Gymnastics while training with Coach John Davis at Hopes and Dreams Gymnastics in Springdale, Arkansas. She won the all-around, bars and floor exercise titles at the 2026 Arkansas Level 10 state championships.

Popovich plans to major in business management at Nebraska.

Brooke Striga, South Huntington, New York
Brooke Striga comes to Nebraska after training at Infiniti Elite Gymnastics under head coach Tammy Marshall. Striga, a three-time Level 10 Nationals qualifier (2022, 2024, 2025), established herself as one of the top beam performers in the country. In 2025, she captured both the New York State and Regional beam championships and finished in the top 10 on beam at nationals. She was also ranked among the top 100 performers on beam in 2024 with an impressive 9.800.

Striga plans to major in nutrition, exercise and health science at Nebraska.

I fell in love with the school the second I stepped on campus for the first time, and I am so excited for next year when I am able to be a part of a team that is so welcoming and be able to experience everything the university has to offer.”

Kambry Tucker, Lubbock, Texas
Kambry Tucker trained at Texas Elite Gymnastics Academy (TEGA) under coaches Fernie and Braeli Urbina. Tucker competed at the 2026 USA Gymnastics Women’s DP National Championships, scoring a 37.400 in the all-around. Tucker produced career-best scores of 9.950 on floor, 9.900 on vault and 9.800 on beam as a Level 10 gymnast over the past two seasons. She finished fourth on beam with a 9.675 at the 2026 Women’s DP National Championships. She won the 2026 Region 3 floor title with her career-best 9.950 and tied for second at the Region 3 meet with a 9.775 on vault.

Tucker plans to major in child, youth and family studies at Nebraska.
