The Nebraska rifle team looks towards the 2026-27 season, where the Big Red will face six of the seven qualifiers from the 2026 NCAA Championships, as the Huskers announced their season schedule on Monday. In their second year back at the Nebraska Rifle Range, the Huskers will host five home matches throughout the regular season. In postseason play, the Big Red will host the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships and the NCAA Qualifiers.
Led by third-year head coach Richard Clark, NU’s schedule includes meetings with 2025 NCAA Champion West Virginia on Nov. 14-15, runner-up TCU on Nov. 14-15 and Feb. 5-6, and third-place finisher Ole Miss on Oct. 10 and Feb 5-6.
Nebraska will begin its season with a home match against Akron on Sept. 26. NU will then hit the road for a match against Ohio State (Oct. 3) and a weekend of competition against Ole Miss and Memphis (Oct. 10-11). Then, the Huskers will be back on home turf for a weekend of matches against Kentucky (Oct. 24) and Alaska-Fairbanks (Oct. 25). On Nov. 8, the Big Red will head to Statesboro, Ga., for a match against Georgia Southern. To wrap up the fall portion of the season, Nebraska will compete in the WVU Fall Classic on Nov. 14-15 in Morgantown, W.V., where it will face off against West Virginia, TCU and Kentucky.
NU will open the spring portion of the season at home for two matches against UTEP on both Jan. 9 and 10. The Huskers will then travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to close out the regular season with matches against Air Force and Alaska-Fairbanks on both Jan. 23 and 24.
Nebraska will begin postseason play by hosting the 2026 PRC Championships on Feb. 5-6 in Lincoln, Neb., featuring NU, Ohio State, Ole Miss, UTEP, TCU, Air Force and Alaska-Fairbanks.
The Huskers will stay at home for their NCAA Qualifier match against Ohio State on Saturday, Feb. 20. The 2027 NCAA Championships will be held at Georgia Southern on March 12-13.
NU returns seven shooters for the upcoming season in senior Charlie Mick, juniors Grace Corbett, Maddy Moyer and Alivia Perkins and sophomores Hannah Gallagher, Katlyn Sullivan and Carley Seabrooke. Nebraska will add two new freshmen to its roster - Kenly Downey and Makenzie Larson.
