Freshman (2025-26)
In her debut season for the Big Red, Katlyn Sullivan captured a record-smashing freshman year. She was named a first team CRCA Air Rifle All-American, as well as a second team All-American in the smallbore and aggregate. Sullivan posted averages of 588.73 in the smallbore, 597.29 in the air rifle and 1,186.04 in the aggregate. She emerged as a strong contender in the air rifle, as she now holds the freshman record for single-match air rifle score with her score of 599, which she shot five times, in addition to the highest freshman season average in the air rifle with her average of 597.29. Her success in the discipline carried through the season, as she posted a second-place individual finish at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Off the range, Sullivan was named to the 2026 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team, and was a CRCA Academic All-American.

Before Nebraska
Sullivan was the Statesboro Herald 2024-2025 Co-Female Player of the Year. Sullivan was a four-time qualifier for the National Junior Olympics Championships in the air rifle and was a two-time qualifier for the smallbore in 2024 and 2025. She was a State Junior Olympic Champion in both the smallbore and air rifle in 2025, and also was a CMP three-position air rifle state champion.

Sullivan earned gold medals in the three-position air rifle and 60 standing at the Montgomery Bell Academy Joe Sharbell Annual Fall Rifle Classic in 2024. In 2023, she earned gold at the USA Shooting National Junior Olympic U17 Championships and Silver at the U17 CMP National Championships in the three-position air rifle. She earned two top-15 placements in a row at the US Nationals in the smallbore in 2024 and 2025. 

Personal
The daughter of James and Kathleen Sullivan, Katlyn is studying mechanical engineering at Nebraska.

Sullivan on Nebraska: “I chose Nebraska because it provided the greatest resources to challenge and advance myself both athletically and academically. Athletically, the coaches, team, and support staff are all committed to aiding athletes to reach the next level. Academically, the Engineering program here at the University of Nebraska has multiple opportunities to expand my knowledge and experience toward my chosen career path.”
