The Huskers saw their first two losses of the season against Michigan and No. 8 Iowa. NU fell to the Wolverines by a score of 2-1 and took a 1-0 shutout loss against the Hawkeyes. Carson Bohonek scored the Big Red’s lone goal of the weekend.

- Nine returning Huskers have notched new career highs in at least one category – Cece Villa (consecutive scoreless minutes), Ava Makovicka (points, goals, assists), Reagan Raabe (assists), Reese Borer (points, goals, assists), Sadie Waite (assists), Lauryn Anglim (goals) Maddy Osborn (saves), Ella Rudney (points, goals, assists) and Kayma Carpenter (points, goals, assists).
- Carpenter ranks first in the Big Ten with three game-winning goals. She is fourth in the conference in goals (5) and sixth in points (12). As a team, NU ranks second in the Big Ten in total assists (27).
- The Big Red went undefeated through 10 games in 2025, including its whole non-conference slate. The last time NU went undefeated in non-conference play was 2000. The 2023 Huskers, who made the NCAA Elite Eight and won a Big Ten Championship, went undefeated through eight games.
- NU has 11 regular-season home games scheduled for its 11th season at Hibner Stadium in 2025, which includes five non-conference matches and six Big Ten contests. Additionally, the Big Red hosted one exhibition.
- The Huskers’ Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch included Reagan Raabe, Lauryn Anglim and Sadie Waite. Nebraska was tabbed No. 12 in the preseason poll.
- NU returned 10 letterwinners from last season, along with sixth-year Raabe. She was injured in both 2023 and 2024, but was a third-team All-Big Ten honoree in 2021 and 2022. Raabe scored the Huskers’ lone goal of their exhibition matches, her first net since Sept. 11, 2022.
- The Huskers welcomed 15 newcomers in 2025, including 13 freshmen and two transfers. Alyse Then previously competed at Daytona State and SUNY, while Jo Sees comes to the Big Red from Kansas State.
- During the 2024 season, the Huskers averaged 1,437 fans per game at Hibner Stadium, second most in Husker history and 11th in the nation. NU added a total attendance of 12,933, which ranked 18th nationally.
- Head Coach John Walker enters his 32nd season, alongside assistant coaches Savanah Anderson-Baer (third season), Ian Bridge (10th season) and Dan Ball (first season). Walker has a 376-205-67 record in his career and has coached all 31 seasons in Nebraska soccer history.
Scouting the Northwestern Wildcats
- Northwestern is 4-2-6 on the season with an 0-1-4 mark in Big Ten conference competition. The Huskers and Wildcats have common opponents in Penn State, No. 21 Ohio State and No. 8 Iowa. Northwestern tied with the Buckeyes and Hawkeyes but took a loss to the Nittany Lions, while Nebraska tied Ohio State and Penn State and fell to Iowa.
- Kennedy Roesch leads Northwestern with nine points, including four goals and an assist. Alex Fallon and Liz Cardwell have each added three assists, while Fallon and Caterina Regazzoni each have two goals.
- Nyamma Nelson has started all 12 games in goal and has allowed only 10 nets this season for a GAA of 0.85. She has logged 40 saves.
- Head coach Michael Moynihan is in his 14th season with the Wildcats. He has a 124-101-41 record with Northwestern and is 317-185-79 in his career.
- The Huskers are 7-6-3 all-time against the Wildcats. The two teams last met in 2023, when the Big Red grabbed a narrow 3-2 victory in Evanston.
