Rifle Team Earns Post-Season Honors

Several members of the Nebraska rifle team received post-season honors this past week. The Huskers were led by sophomore Janine Dutton, who received National Rifle Association (NRA) All-America honors in air rifle. Dutton has already had an outstanding air rifle career with Nebraska, averaging a team-leading score of 585.07. Her high of the season came on Nov. 7 against TCU, when she posted an impressive score of 595 to lead both the Huskers and the dual.

In addition, six Huskers received academic honors from the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA). They are Ryann McGough, Katie Kostal, Katleyn Woltersdorf, Sheena Mahloch, Joyce Kim and Sunny Russell. The award is only awarded to student-athletes with a 3.2 or higher grade-point average.

The Huskers finished this season with a 3-9 team record and a seventh place finish in the Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) championships.
