Six members of the Nebraska rifle team earned spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll, the conference office announced Friday. Nebraska had 358 total honorees in all sports, including 43 student-athletes with perfect 4.0 GPAs during the fall semester.
Leading the way for Nebraska rifle was senior Ryann McGough, who earned her seventh nomination in as many semesters at Nebraska. McGough achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA in five of those seven semesters.
Other Huskers earning spots on the list were juniors Katie Kostal, Sheena Mahloch and Katelyn Waltersdorf, sophomore Joyce Kim and freshman Sunny Russell.
Acknowledging all student-athletes, the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll is an inclusive honor for varsity sports sponsored by the membership of the league. The Honor Roll is recorded and released each semester and recognizes those student-athletes who recorded a 3.00 or better GPA the previous semester. More than 2,000 student-athletes each semester have been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the Conference's 15-year tenure.
