Huskers Travel to UTSA/ITA Central Region Championships

The Nebraska men's tennis team will look to finish its' fall season on a strong note as they travel to the UTSA/ITA Central Region Championships in Norman, Okla. Hosted by the University of Oklahoma, matches are set to begin on Thursday, Oct. 21, and run through Saturday, Oct. 23. The Huskers will send their full roster to the tournament including Calin Paar, Christopher Aumueller, Benedikt Lindheim and Andre Stenger, who will all start play in the main draw.

The Huskers have been led this fall by junior Benedikt Lindheim. The German-native has won a team-high ten matches and will look to continue his hot play after advancing to the second round of the D'Novo/ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

Two players will be playing their first match in a Husker uniform as Tom Blackwell and Robert Schulze will begin play in the qualifying draw. Also beginning in the qualifying draw will be Brandon Videtich, Eric Sock, Drew Freeman and Taylor Boney.

In doubles play, the Huskers will send three teams to the main draw including Paar and Stenger, Lindheim and Aumueller, and Videtich and Boney.
