Nebraska Baseball Gameday: May 7

Lincoln - After a break for final exams, the Nebraska baseball team returns to the diamond tonight, as the Huskers open a three-game series with Southeast Missouri State. First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m. at Hawks Field and the game will be on the Husker Sports Network and on Huskers.com.

Junior Michael Mariot (4-5, 4.58 ERA) bids for his fifth win of the season, as he struck out a career-high nine hitters in his last start against Texas A&M last Friday.

One of the Nebraska's greats will be recognized prior to the game, as two-time All-American Shane Komine will throw out the first pitch. Komine, a two-time conference player of the year, holds Big 12 records for wins (41) and strikouts (510) in leading the Huskers to a pair of CWS appearances. Komine, an Academic All-American in 2002 and spent the last eight seasons in professional baseball, finished his undergrad program and will graduate tomorrow. Komine is one of six current or former players scheduled to graduate this weekend.
