Midweek Preview: The Huskers look to bounce back following a tough series loss at No. 2 Texas in Austin over the weekend. Nebraska, which has won six of its last eight games, split the first two games, as Texas scored three runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to take a 6-5 win in the opener. The Huskers bounced back with a 5-3 win on Saturday, as Michael Mariot, Jordan Roualdes and Chase Adams kept the Longhorn offense at bay, but UT won the finale on Sunday. The Huskers got good starting pitching from Casey Hauptman and Michael Mariot on Friday and Saturday, but could not sustain the momentum in Sunday's finale.

Adam Bailey put together a monster series at Texas, hitting .636 with two homers and seven RBIs, as he drove in at least two runs in all three games. Bailey, who has eight multi-hit and multi-RBI games in his last nine contests, is fourth in the league in hitting  (.443) and RBIs (23), while leading the league in hits (35) and total bases (60) and ranking second in slugging percentage (.759). Third baseman Cody Asche also put together a strong series, hitting .500 (6-for-12) with two doubles and five RBIs against the Longhorns. Asche is hitting .405 with 13 RBIs during his team-best 10 game hit streak.

Northern Colorado is 4-10 on the season, as the Bears lost 2-of-3 to South Dakota State on the weekend. The Bears have played a tough schedule, taking on New Mexico, Sam Houston State, Arizona and Creighton in the first month of the season.
