2011 Outlook: Chase Adams is one of the most experienced pitchers on the 2011 roster, as he ranked fourth in appearances with 17 last season • Pitched to a 3-1 record in his first year of Division I competition, highlighted by a save at No. 2 Texas • Will be used as a setup reliever out of the bullpen • Spent the summer pitching for the East Texas PumpJacks alongside teammates Khris Tate and Bryan Peters in the Texas Collegiate League, going 2-3 with a 3.18 ERA in 19 appearances, the second most on the team • Went unbeaten in two seasons at Howard College, helping the school to a 63-1 mark and an NJCAA national title in 2009.

2010: Adams was used in a variety of roles during the 2010 season, going 3-1 with a save and a 7.76 ERA in 17 appearances • Worked extensively out of the bullpen, as 10 of his 16 relief appearances were at least one inning • Earned the win against Southeast Missouri State on May 9, tossing 2.2 innings of shutout ball with two strikeouts while getting the Huskers out of a third-inning bases-loaded jam • Pitched well at Iowa on April 27, as he tossed two innings of one-hit, shutout relief • Took the first loss of his college career (both junior college and Division I) against Creighton on April 6, allowing six runs on five hits over 1.1 innings  • Turned in his longest outing of the season against North Dakota on March 30, allowing two runs over 5.2 innings for the win, as he fanned four and did not have a runner reach second base over the final four innings • Allowed an unearned run over 2.1 innings of relief versus No. 12 Oklahoma on March 27 • Earned his first win as a Husker after going 4.1 innings against Northern Colorado on March 23, allowing one run and striking out three as the Huskers overcame a 4-1 deficit  • Came up with a stellar outing at No. 2 Texas on March 20, retiring all five hitters he faced, including a pair of strikeouts to preserve a 5-3 win and earn his first save • Tossed 1.1 innings of shutout ball to close out NU’s win over South Dakota State on March 16  • Struck out the side in an inning of work against Nebraska-Kearney on March 10.

Before Nebraska: Adams pitched two years at one of the nation’s most successful junior college programs at Howard College for Coach Britt Smith • Went 11-0 in two seasons at the school, as Howard College went 111-11 during his two seasons in the program • Played a significant part in Howard College going 63-1, highlighted by a 57-game win streak, en route to the NJCAA title in 2009 • Pitched in 16 games, going 4-0 with a 3.10 ERA in 2009, as he fanned 33 and walked nine over 29 innings • Compiled a 7-0 record with a 3.76 ERA, striking out 60 and walking 20 over 57.1 innings of work • Selected to the 2008 Texas/New Mexico Junior College All-Star game • Pitched four seasons at Mineola High School for Coach Ron Ihler • Went 12-2 with a 0.70 ERA as a senior, striking out 133 and walking 12 while tossing eight complete games • Named first-team all-state by the Texas Sports Writers Association and was a second-team honoree by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association • Selected as 15-3A MVP in 2007 as well as first-team All-East Texas while helping Mineola High School to a No. 6 ranking in Class 3-A.

Personal: Born on Jan. 14, 1989, in Sulpher Springs, Texas • Parents are Sherry Thompson and Perry Adams • Has one younger sister, Janie, and three younger brothers, Dalton Seth and Colton, a freshman on the NU baseball team • Majored in management at Nebraska and earned his bachelor's degree in December of 2012 • Full name is Aaron Chase Adams.
