After a three-week break from competition, the Nebraska bowling team is back in action this weekend at the Griffin Invitational in St. Louis, Mo. The tournament, held at Shrewsbury Lanes, will begin this afternoon at 4:30 with five Baker sets of five games. Two Baker sets of five games and three additional team games will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, while the competition will wrap up on Sunday after five team games starting at 8 a.m.
Nebraska is one of eight teams in the tournament, including Arkansas State, Central Missouri, Elmhurst, Louisiana Tech, Minnesota State-Mankato, Valparaiso and Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Seven Huskers made the trek to St. Louis, including Cassandra Leuthold, Jasmine Laugerman, Katie Ann Sopp, Kayla Stram, Danielle van der Meer, Shalima Zalsha and Kristi Mickelson.

Cabot, Ark. - All-American Cassandra Leuthold placed sixth individually, as the Nebraska bowling team earned a fifth-place finish at the Mid-Winter Classic in Cabot, Ark., on Jan. 17. NU earned a total pinfall of 11,494 over the three-day tournament.
Three Huskers placed within the top-20 standings, including Leuthold, who earned her fourth top-10 finish on the year with a 208 average. The Mid-Winter Classic marks the fourth time this season Leuthold has averaged above a 200. Junior Katie Ann Sopp placed 15th with a 196 average, while sophomore Danielle van der Meer placed 17th with a 191 average.
Maryland-Eastern Shore topped the competition, rolling a total pinfall of 12,098. Central Missouri State University placed second with a 11,910 pinfall, while Delaware earned a third-place finish with a 11,859 pinfall. Arkansas State placed fourth with a 11,650 pinfall.
