Nebraska (21-24-1) vs. Missouri (26-21)

The Huskers look to even the series this afternoon against the Missouri Tigers. First pitch at Hawks Field is set for 2:06 p.m. and the game will be carried on the IMG Husker Sports Network and on Huskers.com. In addition, the game will be televised statewide on NET Television.

5:00
Asche looks at a curve ball for strike three and that's the game. Missouri wins 6-3. Scooter Hicks (4-1) gets the win for Missouri and Mike Nesseth takes the loss for NU to fall to 3-4 on the year.

4:58
Belfonte grounds out and Farst strikes out, and the Huskers are down to their final out. Runners on first and second, tying run at the plate.

4:50
Nate Kerkhoff pitches a scoreless 9th for Nebraska, and Tezak and Mort reach base to lead off the bottom of the inning for Nebraska.

4:39
Two infield pop-ups end Nebraska's chance in the 8th inning. We head to the 9th with the Tigers up three runs.

4:33
Belfonte scores on a Sullivan walk. Missouri 6, Nebraska 3. Bases still loaded and still one out.

4:31
Asche struck out, and Boomer Collins took a pitch on the knee to load the bases with one down.

4:26
So far, so good. Belfonte and Farst open the bottom of the 8th with back-to-back singles.

4:21
Jeff Emens comes in for the Tigers in the bottom of the 8th to try and lock down the victory for Mizzou. We'll see if Belfonte, Farst and Asche have something to say.

4:13
After the Huskers are unable to put any runs on the board in the bottom of the 7th inning, Erik Anderson enters the game to pitch for NU.

4:03
Rose works quickly and efficiently while retiring three Tigers. It's time for the 7th inning stretch. About 50 members of the Husker Jr. Home Run Club lead the crowd in singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."

3:56
Through six innings, Missouri leads 6-2. Eric Rose takes the mound for NU in the top of the 7th.

3:47
Bird retires the first two batters, then hits Liberto. Holt singles up the middle, and Lollis clears the bases with a double past a diving Nick Sullivan. Missouri 6, Nebraska 2.

3:35
Cade Thompson pinch hits for Burleson and flies out to center. Tezak grounds out to second. Mort doubles down the left-field line, but Belfonte grounds out to end the inning.

3:31
Erik Bird gives up a single, but no damage is done. Burleson, Tezak and Mort due up for NU in the bottom of the 5th. Ryan Clubb comes in to pitch for Mizzou.

3:23
Kelly Fick comes in to pitch for the Tigers to open the bottom of the 4th, and the lefty retires the first two Huskers, but Nick Sullivan takes a 3-2 pitch and sends it over the bullpen in right field to a fan waiting for it on the sidewalk. It's Sullivan's fourth home run of the year and makes the score Missouri 4, Nebraska 2 at the end of the 4th inning.

3:16
Jake Mort fields a ground ball, tags the runner at third and throws to first for a double play. Then Kyle Bubak makes a throwing error and Missouri scores to go up 3-1. Austin Holt hits an RBI single to center, and Missouri leads 4-1.

3:10
Another wild pitch allows a Tiger to score, and that will be it for Nesseth. Missouri leads, 2-1. Erik Bird in to pitch for the Big Red.

3:09
A wild pitch and a passed ball in this inning for NU already, and still no one out. Steve Gray hits an RBI single, and then Ryan Ampleman walks to load the bases again. Nebraska 1, Missouri 1.

3:04
Missouri is threatening again, runners on the corners with nobody out.

2:58
Belfonte lined a single to left, but that was all the Huskers could muster in the bottom of the 3rd. We've played three, and your score remains Nebraska 1, Missouri 0.

2:53
The Huskers get out of the bases-loaded jam with a fly out to left field and a strike out looking.

2:46
Nesseth gives up another walk and the bases are loaded now with one out. Ryan Lollis is at the plate for Mizzou.

2:42
Nesseth issues two walks to open the 3rd, and the Huskers have a meeting at the mound.

2:34
Hicks strikes out Cory Burleson to end a 1-2-3 2nd inning. The Huskers still lead, 1-0.

2:29
Nesseth sits the Tigers down in order once again.

2:24
At the end of the 1st inning, your score is Nebraska 1, Missouri 0.

2:22
Missouri pitcher Scooter Hicks (what a great baseball name) beans Jeff Tezak to open the bottom of the first. Jake Mort advanced Tezak to second on a grounder to the shortstop, and Tyler Farst brought Tezak home on a bloop single to center. The Huskers are still threatening with runners on first and second.

2:09
Nesseth makes quick work of the Tigers in the top of the first. Three up and three down.

2:06
The first pitch from Mike Nesseth is a strike. The temperature in Lincoln is 66 degrees with mostly sunny skies and winds from the South at 3 mph...a perfect day for baseball!

1:58
Nebraska's first-ever undefeated national champion wrestler, Jordan Burroughs, throws out the first pitch, and it's just a bit outside.

1:35
Lineups for today's game have been posted. Adam Bailey was originally in the lineup, but he has been scratched because of a sore hamstring. DJ Belfonte moves into the No. 3 spot in the lineup for the first time in his career.
