Adam Bailey's RBI single makes it a 8-4 Husker lead heading into the ninth

Anderson and Mike Nesseth combine on a scoreless eighth, as the Huskers lead 7-4 after seven and a half innings

8:32 p.m.
Nebraska gets some breathing room, getting an RBI single by Jeff Tezak before DJ Belfonte was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it  7-4 game aftrer seven innings

8:16 p.m.
Its stretch time in Lincoln as Erik Anderson works a scoress top of the seventh. Huskers lead 5-4 after six and a half innings

8:12 p.m.
Nebraska threatens in the sixth, as DJ Belfonte walked and stole second and third, but the Huskers could not push across a run.

Nate Kerkhoff strikes out the side in the sixth, as the Huskers lead 5-4 after five and  a half innings

The Huskers threaten in the fifth, getting a one-out walk to Adam Bailey, but can't push across a run. Nebraska leads 5-4 after five complete at Hawks Field

Nate Kerkhoff strikes out pinch-hitter Sean Flanagan with two outs and a runner on first to get out of the fifth with the Huskers holding a 5-4 lead.

Iowa strikes for a quartet of runs off Michael Mariot and Erik Bird, helped by a Husker error. NU leads 5-4 after three and a half innings of work.

7:10 p.m.
The Huskers extend their lead to 5-1 after three innings, as Jeff Tezak adds a two-run single while Jake Mort drives in a run with a sacrifice fly. Tezak is 2-for-2 with three RBIs in his first two at-bats

Mariot allows an infield single and works around the top of the third. Mariot has allowed one hit through three innings of work

The Huskers are retired in order in the bottom of the second, as Nebraska leads 2-0.

Mariot retires the side in order in the top of the second inning, as the Huskers enjoy a 2-0 lead. It is the first time the Huskers led since April 3 against Kansas State.

6:32 p.m.
Nebraska jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on RBI singles from Adam Bailey and Jeff Tezak, as the Huskers string together four hits in the opening frame.

Mariot tosses a scoreless first inning as Iowa didn't a ball out of the infield. Huskers coming to bat in the bottom of the first.
