Game 32: Creighton (14-15) vs. Nebraska (16-14-1)

Nebraska hosts Creighton tonight at 6:05 p.m. in the first of three matchups this season. Kash Kalkowski takes the hill for the Huskers in his first career start

Nebraska holds Creighton off the scoreboard in the top of the ninth. We are heading to the botttom of the ninth

The Huskers are retired in order in the bottom of the eighth and trail 15-0

A frightening inning for the Huskers ended with Creighton scoring eight times, as Huskers pitchers combined to walk six hitters and hit another. Creighton now leading 15-0 after seven and a half frames.

The Huskers continue their bad luck, hitting into their third double play of the evening. CU is up 7-0 after seven innings. Taylor Massey making his Husker debuy to open the eighth inning

Creighton pushes across three runs in the top of the seventh to make it a 7-0 deficit for the Huskers, not before Michael Mariot snared a liner and turned it into a double play. Its stretch time in Lincoln

Creighton turns another double play to get out of the sixth without trouble, as NU still trails 4-0 after six complete. Erik Anderson now pitching for Bird, who allowed one unearned run over 2.2 innings of work.

Nebraska stuggles to get anything going on offense, as Belfonte singles with one out, but Bubak grounds into a 4-6-3 DP to end the frame.

Creighton tacks on an unearned run in the top of the fifth to extend their lead to 4-0 after four and a half innings

Nebraska threatens in the bottom of the fourth, getting a two-out double from Jeff Tezak and a walk to Boomer Collins, but could not convert, as they trail 3-0 after four complete frames.

Creighton takes a 3-0 lead after three and a half innings, as Erik Bird is now pitching for NU. Kalkowski allowes three runs on five hits over a career-long 3.1 innings of work

The Huskers are retired in order in the third, as Nebraska trails 1-0 after three innings

Kalkowski works around a two-out single by Elliot Soto and strikes out Darin Ruf to end the third.
