Game 17: Nebraska (11-4-1, 1-1 Big 12)  at Texas Tech (7-10, 1-1 Big 12)   

The Huskers will go for the series win at Texas Tech this afternoon at 2 p.m. Michael Mariot looks for his second win of the year for thr Big Red, who split a twinbill on Saturday afternoon (8-16; 10-1)

The Huskers threaten against Bettis, getting two on, but can't push across a run and trail 9-3 heading into the seventh-inning stretch.

More two-out hitting for the Red Raiders, as an RBI single by Justin Berry and a bases loaded walk extends the Red Raider lead to 9-3. Tech has scored all nine of its runs today in two-out situations.

Nebraska gets a two-out double from Kyle Bubak, but can't push across a run. Tech leads 6-3 heading into the bottom of the sixth.

Mayo uses the wind again, as his two-run homer to left pushes the Red Raider lead to 7-3. Adam Bailey is now on the mound replacing Yost

Nebraska pulls to within 5-3 on Adam Bailey's eighth homer of the season -and second of the weekend. The Huskers continued to rally, knocking AJ Ramos out of the game and putting runners at second and third, but Chad Bettis came in and got Cade Thompson to ground out to end the inning

3:25 p.m.
Texas Tech strikes for five runs, chasing Nebraska starter Michael Mariot after 4.2 innings of work. A pinch-hit double from Logan Leslie, a two-run homer to left from Jeremy Mayo and a two-run single by Chris Richburg off of reliever Sean Yost accounted for the Red Raider uprising.

3:00 p.m.
A sterling defensive play by Texas Tech snuffed out the Huskers' fourth-inning rally. With two outs and runners on second and third, DJ Belfonte's chopper when off the glove of AJ Ramos, but shortstop Joey Kenworthy recovered the ball behind the mound the fired to first to get Belfonte by a nose. NU leads 2-0 after three and a half innings.

Tyler Farst comes through again, as his second RBI single of the day plates Adam Bailey and gives the Huskers a 2-0 lead.

2:38 p.m.
Texas Tech threatens again in the second, getting runners on first and second with two outs, but Mariot gets the Huskers out of a jam by getting Wille Rueda to fly out to left to end the inning. Nebraka is up 1-0 after two frames.

2:26 p.m.
The Huskers get a runner in scoring positon, but can't push across a run, as Nebraska holds on to a 1-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second.

2:20 p.m.
Texas Tech gets a pair of two-out singles and an error by Nick Sullivan, but Michael Mariot works out of trouble. The error was Sullivan's first in 108 games dating back to April of 2006 and third of his career in the outfield.

2:08 p.m.
Tyler Farst put the Huskers on the board in the top of the first, driving home DJ Belfonte with an RBI single. It is the first run Tech starter AJ Ramos allowed in 13.1 innings this year. The Huskers lead 1-0 with the Red Raiders coming to bat.

1:45 p.m.
After three days of sub-par weather, we are being treated to the best day of the weekend with temperatures already in the low 60s and cloudless blue skies. The wind could be a factor, as it is blowing between 18 and 27 miles per hour to the Southwest, which in this park means its a crosswind to left field. The Huskers are in their grey jerseys today with the Red Raiders in the red tops with white pants.
