Ann Arbor, Mich. – The No. 12 Nebraska women’s gymnastics team was dealt a 195.525-195.975 loss to No. 14 Michigan Saturday night at Crisler Arena. In addition, the Huskers also took top honors on vault and floor.

“We started on bars and recovered to have a great finish,” Head Coach Dan Kendig said. “Floor is our signature event, and we just had trouble tonight. Erin started us off great again, Kylie has been sick all week and she put up an amazing 9.90. We were down, but we really put them back in the meet.”

The Huskers moved on to floor, with Davis tallying a career-high 9.825, and Stone adding a strong 9.90 for first in the event. Nathe added a 9.775, with Evenstad hitting a 9.80. The Huskers were forced to count a fall as Woo finished the rotation with a 9.225, giving NU an event score of 48.525. Nebraska entered the final event trailing the Wolverines 146.75-146.775.

Nebraska capped the evening on beam, where Woo hit a mark of 9.85 to tie for second, and Howard received a 9.775. Habbib closed her evening with a 9.725. Stone contributed a 9.75, and Fyffe and Nathe both added a 9.675 each. NU totaled an event score of 48.775 and a final team total of 195.525, but it was not enough to overcome to Michigan’s 195.975.

“This team is so much better than this,” Kendig said. “They work so hard, we’re just waiting to put a whole meet together. Next week is senior night and I’m really hoping people come out to honor Brittney and Tricia. I know this is difficult, but this team works hard, and they won’t be afraid to get back at it and get better.”

Nebraska returns home for senior day to face Iowa State in a conference dual next Sunday, March 8. Competition is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the Devaney Center.
