The Huskers avoided their third shutout of the season when Borg ignited a two-run seventh inning. Following Borg’s double, senior pinch-hitter Katie Linke singled to put runners at the corners. After Baylor recorded the second out, senior Jessica Yoachim loaded the bases with a walk and Borg came home when Waldecker reached on an error by the shortstop.
NU continued to threaten when freshman Crystal Carwile reached on an infield singled that scored junior Carmen Kier and closed the gap to 7-2. With the bases still loaded and the tying run on deck, Tannahill worked the count full before striking out swinging to end the game.
Nebraska and Baylor wrap up the series tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Bowlin Stadium.
