Brown Sits Tied For First at Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate

Kiawah Island, S.C. - Sophomore Elli Brown fired a first-round, one-over par 73 to tie for first place and help the Nebraska women's golf team to a tie for fifth-place with 310 at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C., Monday.

The Huskers sit nine strokes behind Campell University, who leads the 19-team field with a 13-over par 301 at the par-72, 5,919-yard Oak Point Golf Club.

Senior Sara Sackett shot 77 through the first 18 holes, placing her in a tie for 24th, while junior Chrissie McArdle tied for 33rd with 78.  Senior Stephanie Ruiz and sophomore Allison Stewart are tied for 68th with 82.

The first nine holes of the second round will be played Monday afternoon and the second nine holes will be played Tuesday 8:15 a.m. EST.
