The Nebraska softball team will visit Salt Lake City Sept. 19-21, to participate in the Utah Tournament with Utah, Washington, and Utah State.

The host Utes completed the first stanza of the Utah Fall Classic last weekend with a 2-1 record, falling to Brigham Young. Utah had a losing 2003 season, posting a 20-27 record. Nebraska leads the all-time series against Utah 8-5. The last time the two teams met was on neutral grounds at the Capital Classic in Sacramento, Calif., March 17, 2000. The Huskers lost 1-5. Utah is coached by Mona Stevens, who is in her seventh year as head coach.
Washington returns 13 players, nine of which are experienced starters. The Huskies registered a 47-16-1 record last season. Washington finished the 2003 season at the Women's College World Series, losing to UCLA, 2-1.
The all-time series is led by Washington, 2-4. The Huskers last went up against the Huskies in the regular season action on March 14, 2001 at the Red Desert Classic, in St. George, Utah, losing 0-3. Last fall the Huskies played host to the Washington Fall Tournament, playing NU twice. The Huskers split with Washington, winning the first game 5-1 and losing the second 4-6. Washington is coached by Teresa Wilson. Wilson is in her 12th season as head coach for the Huskies.
The 2003 season was rough for Utah State, which compiled a record of 8-40. However, the Aggies only lost three players from last season's squad and will return the majority. The Huskers lead the all-time series versus Utah State, 6-3. The two teams last met on March 14, 2003, at the Sacramento State Tournament in Sacramento, Calif. Nebraska shut out the Aggies, 8-0, in five innings. Utah State is led by Debbie Bilbao, who is entering her third year as head coach.
