Husker Bowling Teams Qualify for Nationals

The men's and women's bowling teams won the Midwest Sectional Qualifier held March 23-34 at Harvest Lanes in Oklahoma City, Okla.  This is te 14th consecutive year the the defending champion women's bowling team has qualified for the Intercollegiate Bowling Championships.  The two-time national champion men's team has qualified for the IBC 16 of the last 17 years.

The qualifier format consisted of 64 Baker games.  Because of the format, there are no individual performance standings.  A Baker game is when five different players each bowl two frames of a single game.  The top four teams in each division qualified for the IBC which will be held in Buffalo, N.Y., April 17-20.

Husker Women Competing in the Sectionals included seniors Diandra Hyman and Christine Couvillon, juniors Kari Schwager and Paola Gomez and sophomores Shannon Pluhowsky, Suzanne Medwell and Christina Perez.
