Paola Gomez Season 2000-01

2002-03 Review
Paola (pronounced Pow-o-la) Gomez competed in seven tournaments during her final season at Nebraska.  She tallied a total of 12,026 over 61 games played for a 197.148 average in 2002-03.  Her best finish came at the Coca-Cola Classic where she averaged 205 for a first-place finish. In her Husker career, Gomez held a total pinfall of 20,228 over 103 games for a career average of 196.388.  In 15 events, she claimed one tournament title and placed in the top-five four times.

2001-02 Review
Gomez competed in seven meets in her first full season as a Husker, averaging a 196.94 in 36 games.  After opening with a then-career-best 207.75 average in four games at the Mid-States Classic, she did not average above 200 in competition until the final portion of the season.  Gomez finished the 2002 season with a flourish, averaging a career-high 215.33 at the Coca-Cola Classic before finishing a career-best eighth out of 124 bowlers at the Hoosier Classic with an average of 190.33.

2000-01 Review
Gomez joined the Husker squad midway through the season and competed in one tournament, bowling a 1,112 in six games at the Coca-Cola Classic.

Before Nebraska
Gomez, who attended Gimnasio Emilio de Brigard, was ranked as the No. 1 bowler in Colombia and was on the national team for three seasons.
