Huskers Card a 12th-Place Finish at Big 12 Championships

The Nebraska men's golf team finished the Big 12 Championships on Tuesday in 12th place for the second year in a row. With scores of 327, 322 and 307, the team totaled 956 over the two-day tournament at the challenging Prairie Dunes Country Club.

Baylor stole the title from defending champion Oklahoma State with a final score of 894 for a 10-shot victory. Worth Williams of Baylor, who led the tournament on Monday, claimed medalist honors with a score of 215.

Nebraska junior Seth Porter came into the day in 41st and used a final round 72 to finish in a tie for 29th. After leading the Huskers in the first two rounds, sophomores Jim Troy and Blake Humbles finished in 35th- and 46th-place respectively. With a score of 245 over 54 holes, sophomore Rob Arthur wrapped up the tournament in a tie for 52nd place. Sophomore Mike Vanier carded a 254 to finish the tournament in 60th place.
