Huskers Finish Ninth At Jordan Invitational

The Nebraska men's golf team finished in ninth place at the rain-shortened G. Gunby Jordan Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Huskers finished the 36-hole event with a score of 452, which was 14 strokes back of tournament champion UNC Charlotte. The 12-team event was held at the Callaway Garden Resort in Columbus, Ga.

The top finisher for Nebraska was junior Seth Porter, who finished in fourth place after shooting a 71 in the first round followed by 36 in the second for a final score of 107, one-under par. The overall winner of the tournament was Scott Shelton of Mississippi State, who finished a six-under par score of 107.

Nebraska will host the Fairway Club Invitational on Sept. 11-12 at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln. Admission to the two-day event is free.
