Huskers 10th After Day One

The University of Nebraska men's golf team is currently sitting in 10th place overall at the 25th annual Diet Pepsi/Shocker Classic in Wichita, Kansas. The Huskers are 35 shots behind leader Arkansas State, but only four shots behind ninth place Big 12 rival Iowa State.

Leading the charge for the Huskers is freshman Rob Arthur. Arthur carded a 149 during the first 36 holes for the Huskers, landing him in 12th place. Also nabbing a top 20 finish was sophomore Seth Porter who fired a 150, putting him in a tie for 19th place. Other finishers for the Huskers included freshmen J.J. Sullivan (155 T50th place), Jim Troy (156 T53rd place) and Marty Smith (162 T77th place). Freshman Chris Hartwig is competing as an individual, and fired a 153 (T39th place).

Team leader Arkansas State shot a 575. On the individual side, Arkansas State's Jason Jackson fired a 139 to lead all golfers.
