Regular Season
Zeke Nistrian saw limited action during his redshirt season, appearing in three open tournaments and compiling a 5-5 record. Nistrian earned one of his two pins during the season at the UNK Loper Open. He finished sixth at 157 pounds.
Before Nebraska
Nistrian joins the Nebraska wrestling team after competing at Thomas Jefferson High School in Kent, Wash., where he compiled an 89-26 record in three years. As a freshman at 140 pounds, Nistrian went 15-13. During his sophomore season at 152 pounds, he earned a 37-10 record en route to a sixth-place finish at state. After sitting out the 2010 season, Nistrian capped his career with a state title and a 37-3 record in 2011. Nistrian spent one year at Highline Community College in Des Moines, Wash., wrestling at 149 pounds, but was granted a medical redshirt. In addition to wrestling in high school, Nistrian earned four soccer letters at Thomas Jefferson.
Personal
The son of John and Joana Nistrian, Zeke was born on Jan. 26, 1993. He has five sisters and six brothers. Zeke is majoring in business administration at Nebraska.
