One of the most accomplished wrestlers in Nebraska history, Corey Olson served as a volunteer assistant for the Huskers for two seasons from 1993-1995. Olson help guide six Huskers to All-America honors as Nebraska finished sixth as a team at the 1995 NCAA Championships. NU was 29-9 in duals during his two seasons as a Husker coach.
Olson competed on the mat for the Huskers from 1990-93, earning All-America honors three times. He finished third as a redshirt freshman in 1990 and second in both his junior and senior seasons.
The 177-pound standout is prominent in the Nebraska record book. He finished his career ranked third in victories at NU, as he posted an overall mark of 115-28. Included in that total is two 30-win seasons in 1990 and 1992, and a 29-4 record as a senior in 1993.
Olson was one of the most prolific pinners in collegiate history and his 67 career falls placed him second on the Husker charts, just one behind career leader Gary Albright. He also owned three of the top six spots on the single-season falls chart, compiling 21, 19 and 18 falls in three seperate seasons.
