1993: Justin Ware redshirted and competed in open tournaments, finishing the year with a record of 20-2. He finished first at the Wyoming, UNO, and Oklahoma Opens and third at the Great Plains. Ware opened the year with eight consecutive wins and finished the season by winning seven straight.
Before Nebraska: Ware was a third-team Amateur Wrestling News All-American at 135 pounds as a senior. He was a four-time Kansas state champion for Arkansas City High School, where he won championships in four different weight classes, ranging from 103 to 140 pounds. Ware posted a 120-2 prep record and was named the Kansas 5A Wrestler-of-the-Year in 1992 as well as the 130-pound champion at the National High School Wrestling Championships that same year.
Personal: Justin is the son of Allen and Lavera Ware. Ware is a general studies major.
