Career Notes
2008-Hensley wrestled to a 10-10 record in his redshirt season at Nebraska. He opened the year with back-to-back 1-2 showings at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open on Nov. 10 and the Kaufman-Brand Open on Nov. 17. Hensley went 3-2 at the Bob Smith Open on Dec. 1 and the Dana Open on Jan. 5, before ending his season with a 2-2 mark at the Brand Open on Jan. 19. Hensley had one pin and three major decisions.
Before Nebraska-Hensley finished his high school career with a 30-12 record after earning four letters in wrestling. Hensley’s top high school performance came with a fourth-place finish at the Illinois State Championships for Montini Catholic Prep. He helped his team to a second-place state finish and a No. 4 national ranking.
Personal-The son of Jerry and Melinda Hensley, Jered was born on Jan. 2, 1989. He has two brothers, Matthew (20) and Brandon (16). Jered has not declared a major at Nebraska.
