Career Notes
2002-Zakaras went 4-13, including 1-3 in duals, at 174 pounds for Nebraska during the 2001-02 season. He had two wins by major decision.

Before Nebraska-A four-year letterwinner at Omaha Westside, Zakaras was the 171-pound Nebraska Class A state champion in 2001, going 37-2. As a junior, Zakaras finished second in the state with a 31-11 record. He was also a participant at the 2000 Junior Duals in Oklahoma and at Junior Freestyle Nationals. In addition to wrestling, Zakaras twice lettered as a track athlete.

Personal-The son of Jerry and Debbie Zakaras, Jason was born on Sept. 28, 1982. Jason has one sister, Julie. He is a business management major.
