2002-Ferguson notched a 7-8 mark, including three pins, at 133 pounds for the Huskers during the 2001-02 season.
1998-Ferguson compiled an 8-11 record in his first season with the Huskers. Four of his eight wins were by fall. Ferguson was 0-1 in dual action, dropping his match against Matt Smith of Missouri.
Before Nebraska-While wrestling for Head Coach Cecil Hinshaw at Seward High School, Ferguson was a three-time place-winner at the Nebraska state meet, including a state championship at 100 pounds as a sophomore. Ferguson was a four-time USA Wrestling All-American, including a runner-up finish at both the Cadet and Junior National Greco-Roman tournaments in 1995. In 1996, he competed in the Junior World Championships in Walzbrych, Poland, after winning his weight class at the Junior Greco-Roman World Team Trials.
Personal-The son of Steve and Melia Ferguson, James was born on Feb. 25, 1979. James has four brothers, Jeremy, Josh, Joel and Justin. He is a pre-dentistry major.
