NCAA Championships
2006-Jacob Klein 

went 4-2 at the 2006 NCAA Championships to capture seventh place and earn his second All-American honors for Nebraska. He recorded wins over Jim Bertulis of Bloomsburg, Kurt Brenner of West Virginia and Matt Palmer of Columbia before his 2-0 decision over James Yonushonis of Penn State clinched seventh place.

2005-Klein finished just one win short of his second All-America award at the 2005 NCAA Championships. Klein, who entered the tournament as the No. 7 seed, defeated Arizona State's Patrick Pitsch in the first round, 5-3. Klein moved to the quarterfinals with a 2-1 win over 10th-seeded Matt Nagel of Minnesota. After an 8-0 major decision loss to Michigan's Ryan Churella, Klein dropped to the consolation bracket, where he was defeated by Matt Palmer of Columbia, 2-0.

2004-Unseeded entering the NCAA Championships, Klein finished seventh to earn his first All-America award. He beat 11th-seeded Tim Foley of Virgina, 8-2 in the seventh-place match.

Klein started his tournament with a 5-3 loss to David Bowlard of Central Michigan. In the first round of consolation matches, Klein beat Hesston Johnson of Northern Iowa, 8-3. Klein dominated Chris Stith of Virgina Tech, defeating him by major decision 9-1, before edging Eastern Michigan's J.J. Holmes, 3-1.

Klein's next victory was even closer, as he defeated Hofstra's Ralph Everett in overtime, 3-2.

After running off four straight wins in the consolation bracket, Klein was defeated by John Clark of Ohio State, 6-0. Klein ended his 5-2 run with a win over Foley.

2003-In his first NCAA Championships, Klein went 1-2. Seeded 11th, Klein was upset by Nick Frost of Arizona State, 5-4, in the opening round. Dropping into the consolation bracket, Klein rebounded with a 13-1 major decision over Lee Roper of Appalachian State, before being eliminated by Oscar Santiago of Purdue, 12-5.

Big 12 Championships
2006-Klein entered the Big 12 Championships as a No. 2 seed and proved true to his word as he finished second to advance to the NCAA Championships for the fourth consecutive season. Klein opened the competition with a 3-0 win over No. 3 Brandon Mason of Oklahoma State, but lost to top-ranked Ben Askren of Missouri in the finals.

2005-Klein finished third at the 2005 Big 12 Championships. After a 6-4 overtime loss in the semifinals to Oklahoma State's Johny Hendricks, Klein rebounded with a pair of wins to earn his third trip to the NCAA Championships.

2004-Klein finished as the runner-up in the 2004 Big 12 Championships. He started his run with a 3-1 win over Iowa State's Nick Passalano, then in the finals, Klein lost to Oklahoma State's Tyrone Lewis, 12-4.

2003-Entering the Big 12 Championships seeded third, Klein dropped his first-round match to second-seeded Tyron Woodley of Missouri, 5-2. In the third-place match, Klein fell to top-seeded Tyrone Lewis of Oklahoma State, 24-9. Before his match against Lewis, Klein defeated Wes Roberts of Oklahoma, 3-1. Despite going 1-2, Klein received a wild-card bid to his first NCAA Championships.

2006
-Klein capped his senior season with a 24-6 mark, including 14-3 in duals. He racked up 56 dual points for the Huskers, including 32 dual takedowns. He had three pins, three technical falls and two medical decisions. Klein's season included a perfect 4-0 showing at the National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa. His four victories were all over ranked opponents, including No. 3 Mark Perry of Iowa. Klein finished his career with a 94-33 record as he was a four-year letterwinner for the Huskers.

2005-Klein opened his junior season by winning 13 of his first 14 matches and never looked back, going 27-4 on the year. His 19 dual wins tied Travis Pascoe for the team lead and for fifth in Nebraska school history for dual wins in a season.

Klein's hot start included a third-place finish at the 2005 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. On the first day, Klein earned two victories by fall, one by technical fall and one by major decision. After a setback on Dec. 4, Klein defeated Virginia's will Durkee and Big 12 Conference foe Tyron Woodley of Missouri to claim third. Klein would earn bonus points for Nebraska in his next four wins, with two victories by fall and two others by major decision. After a loss to seventh-ranked Ryan Churella of Michigan at the Lone Star Duals on Jan. 8, Klein won 12 of his last 13 to close the regular season. Klein won all four of his matches at the Virginia Duals, which saw the Huskers take the team championship for the second straight year.

In the Big 12, Klein's only setback was a 6-3 loss to Woodley. Klein narrowly defeated Oklahoma State's Johny Hendricks, 5-4, on Feb. 10. The bonus point from his 19-6 major decision win over Mike Somsky was the deciding factor in Nebraska's Feb. 19 win over Iowa State, 16-15.

2004-Klein finished his sophomore season at NU with a 21-10 record. He earned Big 12 Wrestler-of-the-Week and CSTV National Wrestler-of-the-Week honors with his 3-2 win over No. 9 Tyron Woodley of Missouri. Klein was down 2-0 going into the third period, but after a penalty point was assessed to Woodley early in the period, Klein earned an escape with 1:42 to go to tie the match. He won thanks to a 1:42 advantage in riding time. Klein notched six bonus-point victories, including two at the Las Vegas Invitational.

2003-In his first varsity season, Klein posted a 22-13 record and finished second on the team in dual takedowns with 56. He posted a 6-10 record against ranked opponents. Klein earned a third-place finish at the Mat Town Invitational, defeating Chris Haines of Lock Haven, 5-0. Klein's 17 dual wins placed him in a tie for 15th all-time in dual season victories at Nebraska.

At the Virginia Duals against Hofstra, Klein recorded a 4-3 victory over sixth-ranked Noel Thompson, who was the highest-ranked opponent Klein defeated all season. Klein earned the Husker Power Lifter-of-the-Year award while also being named Big 12 Wrestler-of-the-Week for this performances against Air Force and Hofstra.

2002-Klein had a solid redshirt year for the Huskers, compiling a 24-4 record wrestling in open tournaments. Of his 24 wins, eight were by pin and seven were by major decision. Klein added two first-place finishes at the Brand Open and Kaufman/Brand Open. Klein added a third-place finish along with recording the most falls at the UNK/Valentino's Open.

Before Nebraska-While wrestling for Kapuan-Mt. Carmel High School, Klein won three state titles while putting together a 141-13 career record. He was named the 5A State Senior Wrestler-of-the-Year in 2001. Rated as the 11th best recruit at 160 pounds by InterMat, Klein finished third at the high school nationals in April of 2001. In addition to heading the wrestling squad, Klein was captain of the football team and a three-year letterwinner.

Personal-The son of Arnold Klein and Joyce Mayer, Jacob was born Sept. 21, 1982. He has two sisters, Janelle and Allie. He graduated with a degree in communication studies. He continued his time with the Huskers as a administrative assistant for the 2006-07 season.
