2003-In his first Big 12 Championships appearance, Ingalls opened with a 3-1 decision over <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>IowaState’s Nathan Meyer before dropping two straight matches. He lost to Shane Roller of OklahomaState by pin in 1:04 and Rafael Maturino of Oklahoma by fall in 2:41.

 

Career Notes

2006-A pair of championships at 165 pounds highlighted Ingalls’ senior season.  Ingalls, who finished 7-1 including a 1-1 mark in duals, won three matches at the UNK Loper Open in Dec. 10 to earn the 165-pound championship.  The 3-0 performance started Ingalls on a seven-match winning streak, which included a dual win over Anthony Weber of OregonState and a 3-0 showing at the Dana College Open on Jan. 7.  Ingalls’ lone loss of the year came to fourth-ranked Muzzafar Abdurakhmanov of American on Jan. 21.

 

2005-Ingalls began the year as a backup at 157 pounds and ended it as the starter at 149 pounds, pressed into duty when injuries to Chris Nedens and Travis Shufelt opened the spot. 

 

Ingalls started his season on the right foot with a second-place finish at 157 pounds at the Harold Nichols Open in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Ingalls won his first three matches before losing to eventual All-American Trent Paulson of IowaState in overtime, 3-1.  Ingalls also was impressive in his first varsity action with a 2-2 stint at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. 

 

2004-Ingalls went 6-2 as a backup at 157 pounds.  He split his two varsity duals, beating Air Force’s Josh Peterson by major decision 16-6 but was defeated by No. 18 Brian Stith of ArizonaState 6-1.  At the UNK Open, Ingalls wrestled to a 3-1 mark.

 

2003-Ingalls recorded a 10-11 record primarily wrestling in open tournaments in the 149-pound weight class. He recorded a sixth-place finish at the Harold Nichols Open and an eighth-place finish at the Mat Town Invitational.

 

2002-Wrestling in open tournaments, Ingalls finished the season with a 5-4 overall record.

 

Before Nebraska-Ingalls won the South Dakota state championship at 145 pounds while wrestling for WatertownHigh School.  A two-time state finalist, Ingalls compiled a 116-20 career record under 2000 National Coach-of-the-Year Marv Sherrill.  Ingalls holds the Watertown school record for takedowns in a career with 184.  Ingalls helped lead Watertown to a team state title in 2000 and runner-up honors in 2001.

           

Personal-The son of Wayne and Donna Ingalls, David was born on Nov. 5, 1982.  David has three brothers, Dwayne, 29, Warren, 28, and Bryan, 26.  David is a management major.
