1993 - Olson ended his career by capturing his third All-American honor and second-place finish at the National Championships. Olson, seeded third, rolled through his first four opponents, pinning two, notching a tech. fall and a decision on the others. Ultimately, Olson lost a close 5-2 decision to No. 1 seeded Kevin Randleman of Ohio State. Olson’s two pins notched him 67 overall career falls, third in Nebraska history. He ended his career with a 115-28 record, making him the 11th winningest wrestler at Nebraska.

He entered the meet seeded fifth, scored a major decision (18-8) over No. 1 seed Rich Powers of Northern Iowa in the semifinals, following three pins to open the tournament, which made him the runner-up for the most falls/least time award. Olson scored 19.5 of the Huskers' 28 11th-place points.

1991 - Did not compete due to injury.

1990 - Turned in one of the most outstanding performances of the meet, finished third and became only the second Husker to earn All-America honors as a freshman. Olson, seeded No. 7, was 3-1 against other seeded opponents and finished the tournament with a 6-1 record, scoring 16.5 team points for Nebraska.

1992 - Finished the season with a 31-7 record and became only the sixth Husker to post two 30-win seasons (teammate Chris Nelson also accomplished the feat in 1992). Olson recorded 19 pins, the third highest single-season total in Husker wrestling history. He opened the season with nine consecutive wins, including championships in the Omaha and Las Vegas Opens, ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation during the season and twice defeated the No. 1-ranked wrestler as he beat Johnson 9-7 in the finals of the Las Vegas Invitational and Powers in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships. Olson led the team with 68 dual points.

1991- Was on track for an outstanding season until a knee injury ended his sophomore year, he was 15-1 during the first semester and 19-2 after the National Duals, finishing the year with a 20-5 record, which included three injury related losses. Olson underwent surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, after he reinjured it in a match.
