2012-13 (Junior)
Regular Season

Cody Compton did not compete in any matches for the Huskers during his junior season.

2011-12 (Sophomore)
Regular Season

Compton won the Viking-Warrior Open in the 157-pound weight class and compiled a 4-0 record in 2011-12. He outscored his opponents 36-5, winning two matches by major decision. He also posted 6-2 and 6-1 decisions in his four matches. 

For his work in the classroom, Compton earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll during the spring semester in 2012. 

2010-11 (Redshirt Freshman)
Regular Season
Compton made his first appearance in the Husker lineup in NU's third road dual of the season against Northern Colorado. After collecting his first career dual victory over the Bears' Rodney Dollar, Compton defeated Minnesota's Alec Ortiz and Oregon State's Alex Elder to leap to a 3-0 start. Compton wrestled in three other duals for NU, earning his other dual victory over Patrick Labuz from Brown. Compton finished the season with an 8-4 record and a 4-2 mark in dual competition. In dual matches, Compton racked up 11 takedowns, while only giving up one. After winning at the Briar Cliff Open on Feb. 5, his season came to an end due to shoulder injury.

2009-10 (Redshirt)
Regular Season
Compton had an impressive redshirt season, as he compiled a 13-4 record with five major decisions and one technical fall. In four tournaments, Compton finished in the top three, including a title at the Quality Hotel Open when he went a perfect 5-0. After opening the season 4-3, Compton won nine of his final 10 matches. He finished second at the Glen Brand Open and third at the Fort Hays State Open.

Before Nebraska
A two-time All-American, Compton found success at the state level for North County High School in Bonne Terre, Mo. Compton racked up a 162-7 career record with four straight top-five finishes at the state championships. He claimed third as a freshman and sophomore with a 37-2 record at 130 pounds and a 40-1 mark at 140, respectively. He won the title in 2009 and went on to claim the senior national championship.

He claimed third at 145 pounds in the freestyle division of the 2007 Cadet National Championships, before notching an eighth-place showing at 152 pounds in the freestyle division of the 2008 Junior National Championships.

Personal
The son of Bill and Kathey Compton, Cody was born on April 16, 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio. He has an older brother, Will, and a younger brother, Wyatt. Will is a linebacker for the Nebraska football team. Cody is majoring in sociology and he earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the spring of 2012, and the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13. He also earned mention on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the spring of 2011.
