NCAA Championships
2001-Conner claimed his first career All-America honor with a 4-3 record at the 2001 NCAA Championships. Twelfth-seeded Conner opened with a 14-7 decision over UC-Davis' Adrian Garcia, but lost a 13-5 match to fifth-seeded Gabe McMahan of Iowa in the second round. Conner rebounded with three decisions over Arizona State's Curtis Owen, Penn State's Mark Becks and Oklahoma's Michael Barger. Conner ended his career with a 14-8 loss to Minnesota's Jacob Volkman and a 7-4 loss to Cornell's Jim Stanec to finish eighth.
Big 12 Championships
2001-For the second year in a row, Conner opened the Big 12 Championships with a loss to Missouri's John Kopnisky, falling 8-7 this time. However, Conner rebounded with a 7-3 decision over Oklahoma's Michael Barger in the consolation semifinal, and got revenge with a 9-4 decision over Kopnisky in the consolation final to earn third place and his first career trip to the NCAA Championships.
2000-The third seed at 174 pounds, Conner opened his Big 12 Championships with a 6-4 loss to second-seeded John Kopnisky of Missouri. He bounced back with a dominating 6-1 victory over Iowa State's Perry Parks in the consolation semifinal. In the third-place match, Conner was upended by Tony Gansen of Oklahoma State, 6-4, costing Conner a berth in the NCAA Championships.

2001-Conner posted a 17-14 record, including 9-8 in duals, during his senior season at 174 pounds. He had two technical falls and one major decision.
2000-Conner made an impact for the Huskers in his first season as a starter by posting an overall record of 26-10. Conner played an important role in Nebraska's dual lineup by picking up 13 wins in duals, while dropping just five decisions. He earned six major decisions, three technical falls and two pins. He jumped onto the scene on Dec. 4 at the Sheridan Tournament with a second-place finish. A knee straing held him out of the Cornell Classic. He earned his first career national ranking on Dec. 20 at No. 16 in Amatuer Wrestling New's individual rankings. At National Duals, Conner posted a 5-1 mark including a pin and technical fall. During NU's four-match road swing through California, Conner put together a 3-1 record.
1999-Conner redshirted his first season in the Nebraska program, but finished with a 12-5 record in open tournaments. Conner was the 174-pound champion at the UNK open and follwed with a third-place showing at the Great Plains Open. He earned two major decisions.
Before Nebraska-Conner was the California junior college champion at 165 pounds for Coach Paul Keysaw and Moorpark Community College in 1998. During his prep career, Conner was a two-time state runner-up.
Personal-The son of Mitch and Mary Conner, Ati has a sister, Mitsuko, and two brothers, Masao and Mansi. Ati was born Maha Ati Conner on March 27, 1978. He is a sociology major.
