Lynsey Kreikemeier (pronounced CRACK-meyer) competed in the 600-yard run at five meets during the indoor season... ran a season best of 1:26.95 at the Conference Challenge to finish fifth... moved to the 800 meters for the outdoor season... earned a season-best finish and time at the Nebraska Invitational, finishing eighth at 2:17.31.

 

2008 (Freshman)

Kreikemeier contributed immediately at the Big 12 Indoor Championships, running on the 4x400-meter relay that finished eighth and the distance-medley relay team that took seventh... posted a personal-best time of 1:25.81 to finish third in the 600-yard run at the adidas Classic... focused on the 800 meters during the outdoor season... top finish was fifth at the Ward Haylett Invitational (2:19.71).

 

Before Nebraska (St. Thomas Aquinas HS)

Kreikemeier competed for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in David City, Neb., under Coach John Svec.... played a big part in the Monarchs’ team runner-up finish at the 2007 Nebraska Class C state meet... qualified for the state meet in four events every year, winning nine Class C medals, including four golds... was the 2007 Class C 400- and 800-meter champion and ran the anchor leg of the winning 4x400-meter relay... her 800 time of 2:16.25 was a career best and allowed her to defend the 800 title she won at the 2006 state meet... was a member of the National Honor Society... chose Nebraska over Wichita State and Nebraska-Kearney.
