Nebraska Outdoor Track

As part of the Go Big Athletic Facility Project, Nebraska Track and Field enters a new era with the opening of the Nebraska Outdoor Track in 2026. Located just north of the Bob Devaney Sports Center, this state-of-the-art venue is designed to be a premier track and field stadium in the United States. The facility is equipped to host all track and field events within a single venue, providing an optimal championship environment for both athletes and spectators. Amenities include visiting team changing rooms, dedicated meeting and hospitality spaces, adjacent warm-up and practice areas, and the David and Carol Alloy Press Box.

The Nebraska Outdoor Track carries forward a proud tradition established at historic Ed Weir Stadium, which served as the home of Nebraska Track and Field for decades until its closure in 2019. Ed Weir Stadium previously hosted the 2016 Big Ten Outdoor Championships and was widely recognized for its championship atmosphere and competitive excellence.

The 2026 Big Ten Outdoor Championships at the Nebraska Outdoor Track will mark a new chapter, as Nebraska hosts the Big Ten outdoor meet for the second time — this time in its new world-class facility.
