1999-2000: Redshirt Freshman
Riva Wig contributed nicely to the Huskers in limited action during the 1999-2000 season. Playing in only a handful of games during the spring, Wig made the most of it, winning three of four. All three of her wins came at No. 6 singles, while her lone loss came at the No. 5 spot. Wig was also victorious in her lone doubles match of the spring, pairing up with sophomore Amy Frisch to record a win at No. 3 doubles.
1998-99: Redshirt
Wig redshirted after suffering a knee injury in the preseason.
Before Nebraska
At the National Sport School, Wig was ranked among the top 20 Canadien junior players. She also earned a No. 1 ranking as an Alberta junior for Head Coach Jane Croshaw.
Personal
The daughter of Janet and Ken Wig, Riva was born on July 29, 1980, in Edmonton, Alberta. Wig has one younger sister, Kari, and two younger brothers, Marty and Kyle.
