2011-12: Senior
The winningest player in Nebraska women's tennis history, Madeleine Geibert (pronounced GUY-bert) produced her best season as a senior while helping the Huskers to the best season in school history.

Playing primarily out of NU's No. 3 singles spot, Geibert notched a 20-13 record, including a 15-10 mark in the spring with a 6-5 Big Ten mark. She went 2-1 at No. 2 singles and 13-6 at No. 3.

She was even better in doubles action, posting a team-best 26-8 mark with teammate Stefanie Weinstein at Nebraska's No. 1 spot. The duo finished No. 38 nationally in the final ITA doubles rankings. The tandem  posted an 20-5 mark this spring, including an 8-3 record in Big Ten play.

With 46 combined victories as a senior, Geibert shattered Nebraska's career wins record with 181 combined singles and doubles victories. The previous mark was held by Sandra Noetzel (172, 1996-2000). Geibert's 90 career singles victories were tied for third in school history, trailing only teammate Mary Weatherholt's 93 and Noetzel's 101. Geibert's 91 career doubles victories were also a new program record, shattering the former mark by Imke Reimers (74, 2004-08)

Geibert's 26 doubles wins with Weinstein in 2011-12 ranked as the second-best win total by a Husker team in school history, trailing only 28 victories by Kathrin Edelkotter/Iidiko Guba and Doneta Holmen/Nancy Tyggum in 1989-90. Geibert and Weinstein teamed for 20 wins in 2010-11 and 19 victories in 2009-10, which also ranked among the top seven doubles marks in Husker history.

Geibert also continued her excellence in the classroom as one of seven Huskers to earn academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012.

2010-11: Junior
Geibert produced another outstanding season with Nebraska as a junior, registering a spring singles record of 16-8 that included a 13-4 mark at the No. 1 position. One of Geibert's highlight wins of the spring came in NU's match against Kansas State, where she upset No. 43 Petra Niedermayerova in a three-set thriller (0-6, 7-5, 6-4). Geibert's victory clinched the eventual 4-3 win for the Huskers. Geibert earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Singles Team at the end of the season, her third honor in three years at NU.

Geibert also partnered with Stefanie Weinstein for another successful campaign in doubles throughout the fall and spring. The pair compiled an overall record of 20-10 together and spent much of the second half of the season in the ITA Division I Women's Doubles Rankings. Geibert and Weinstein picked up three wins over ranked opponents on the year, including an 8-4 upset victory over Iowa's No. 33 pairing of Sonja Molnar and Jessica Young in April.

Geibert continued to make her mark in the NU record books, as her 65 career wins in doubles put her at No. 5 all-time. In addition, she and Weinstein's 20 doubles victories in 2010-11 put them at No. 4 in single-season doubles team wins.

Geibert was also a standout off the court, capturing second-team academic All-Big 12 accolades. She also claimed spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll during the fall semester. Geibert's efforts helped the women's tennis program earn the Herman Award, which is presented to the Nebraska team with the highest yearly GPA across all women's sports.

2009-10: Sophomore
Geibert saw her successes continue in her second season with the Huskers, as she posted an spring singles record of 16-10. She played primarily at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions throughout the spring, though she also posted a 2-0 record at the No. 3 spot. Geibert led the team in singles wins in the fall with an impressive 10-4 record. At the end of her sophomore campaign, Geibert was named to the All-Big 12 Singles team for her achievements on the court.

Geibert was also one of NU’s top doubles competitors in 2010. She paired with Stefanie Weinstein for much of the spring, and the duo posted a 14-8 record at the No. 1 doubles spot. Geibert and Weinstein had an excellent fall season as well, going 5-1 and capturing the Timblerwolves Double Flight championship at the Minnesota Invitational in September. Geiebert’s 24 doubles wins earned her spot in the record books for single-season doubles victories at Nebraska. The pair was recognized for their skill by being named to the All-Big 12 Doubles team at the end of the season.

Geibert ended the season with 50 combined wins, earning her a tie at the No. 2 spot for single-season combined victories in the Nebraska record books.

Geibert also earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors and captured spots on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.

2008-09: Freshman
Geibert had no troubles adjusting to NCAA Division I tennis, as Coach Scott Jacobson plugged her into the top of the singles lineup in her freshman season. Geibert spent the entire season at either the No. 1 or No. 2 singles spots, and came away with a 15-5 record during the spring season. She led the team with 11 singles wins at the No. 1 spot, and was a perfect 4-0 at the No. 2 spot. She also won 11 singles matches in the fall, giving her 26 total singles wins on the year, good for third on the team behind Mary Weatherholt and Wiveca Swarting. Geibert had the most three-set matches on the team with eight, coming out on top in five.

Geibert was also excellent on the doubles court, teaming with Jana Albers for the majority of the season at the No. 1 doubles spot. The duo led the team with 13 doubles wins during the spring, while Geibert led the team individually with 21 doubles wins on the year.

Geibert was also a standout in the classroom her freshman year, earning spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters. She was also named an ITA Scholar Athlete, awarded to individuals who achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher during the year.

Before Nebraska
Geibert came to Lincoln after an outstanding career in the women's division in Germany, where she was ranked as high as No. 63 in the country. Geibert came to Nebraska as the highest-ranked German player that the Huskers had ever recruited.

Personal
Madeleine was born on Aug. 30, 1989, in Heidelberg, Germany. She is the daughter of Gerhard and Monika Geibert. A biological sciences major, Madeleine earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in August of 2012. She claimed academic All-Big Ten honors as a senior and was a two-time academic All-Big 12 selection. She was a five-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
