Before Nebraska
From Orlando, Fla., Spencer brings an impressive resume to Nebraska. Spencer, a five-star recruit, was ranked as high as No. 11 in the country, and was the eighth ranked recruit in the state of Florida. Spencer competed in numerous ITF tournaments, highlighted by two doubles championships in 2025 at the Chesterton J100 and Orlando J60. She also earned two Silver Balls, one at the 2022 National Clay Court Championship as a 16U finalist, and one at the 2023 Winter National Championship as an 18U doubles finalist.
Personal
The daughter of Jim and Nicolina Spencer, Katie is currently undecided. Katie comes from a family with athletic history. Her father Jim played collegiate tennis at Clemson and Florida, and her brother Charlie Spencer currently plays Division I Tennis at the Naval Academy.
