  • Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll (2011)

2010-11: Freshman
Frederike Putthoff  (pronounced Fred-er-EEK-ah POOT-off) arrived at Nebraska in the winter as the final piece of the 2011 team. Head Coach Scott Jacobson quickly plugged Putthoff into the lineup, where she split her playing time between the No. 4, 5 and 6 positions. Putthoff finished the spring with a 3-9 record in singles and a 3-4 mark in doubles play. Her final singles match of the season came against Texas A&M, where she was one of just two Huskers to pick up a win. After dropping the first set, she rallied back to defeat the Aggies' Lauren Santacroce (1-6, 6-3, 6-0) at the No. 6 spot.

In the classroom, Putthoff earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.

Before Nebraska
Putthoff played tennis while attending Gymnasium Lohne in Germany. She was ranked as high as No. 44 in the German Women's rankings, making her one of the highest ranked players from Germany ever to play at Nebraska. She was also invited to play several times in the prestigious German Junior Championships.

Personal
Frederike was born July 4, 1990 in Lohne, Germany. She is the daughter of Waltraud Putthoff and Axel Posledni. Frederike has not declared a major at Nebraska, but she did earn a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll in 2011.
