2019-20: Freshman (Year of Eligibility Restored Due to COVID-19 Pandemic)
Anna Baranovski joined Nebraska just prior to the spring season, and her freshman year was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite missing the fall, Baranovski was in the lineup for five singles competitions during the spring, posting a 2-3 record while playing exclusively out of the No. 6 spot. She earned her first career win with a three-set victory over Colorado State's Anastasiia Kotsyuba and in the final match of the shortened season, Baranovski earned a team point against Illinois State with a victory by forfeit.
Personal
Anna is the daughter of Igor and Olga Barnovski. She was born Aug. 15, 2001 in Houston, Texas and grew up in Sunrise, Fla. She was a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2020.
Why Anna Chose Nebraska
I chose Nebraska because I felt the good environment which is so important for anyone joining the school, but especially for student athletes. Also, I felt a good connection with the tennis coaches and the team.
