2022 (Sophomore)
Joanne De Jesus-Cortes helped add depth to the Husker roster in 2022. She was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for her dedication and commitment to serving the Lincoln community. 

2021 (Freshman) 
De Jesus-Cortes made her Husker debut at Michigan on Feb. 15, earning a score of 9.025 on beam. De Jesus-Cortes was recognized for her dedication and success in the classroom earning a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. De Jesus-Cortes was also recognized for her leadership and service in the Lincoln community earning a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. 

Before Nebraska
De Jesus-Cortes is a Level 10 gymnast who trained at Capital Gymnastics in Cedar Park, Texas, under coach Zach Crumpton. She was a three-time Texas State and regional qualifier. She finished eighth on the balance beam at regionals in 2017.

Personal
The daughter of Jose De Jesus and Janette Cortes, Joanne was born on Nov. 2, 2001, in Fort Bragg, N.C. She has an older brother, Javier. Joanne is majoring in microbiology with a focus on nursing. She is a two-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. She was a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2021 and 2022.
